Moriroku Group Announces Support of TCFD Recommendations

Moriroku Holdings Company, Ltd. (Head Office: Minami-Aoyama, Minato City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Kurita) has announced its support for the recommendations of the TCFD*.

*TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) https://www.fsb-tcfd.org/ A subcommittee established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in 2015, in response to a request by the G20, that engages in debates on information disclosure and financial policies related to climate change. The subcommittee evaluates the financial impact of risks/opportunities caused by climate change on management, and recommends that companies disclose information about governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics & targets.

The Moriroku Group has established “Increase management resilience by promoting sustainable activities” as a pillar in its basic strategy for the 13th Medium-Term Management Plan (FYE March 2023 – FYE March 2025). The Group is placing particular emphasis on efforts towards carbon neutrality, such as reducing GHG emissions through business activities and implementing renewable energy.

The Moriroku Group made the decision to support the recommendations of the TCFD in light of these circumstances, in order to help ameliorate and adapt to climate change as a responsible global company, and to fulfill its responsibilities to its stakeholders. Moving forward, the Group will evaluate risks/opportunities related to climate change according to the TCFD recommendations framework, discuss countermeasures that the Group can take, and increase the enhancement of information disclosure through its websites and other channels.
