Materiality Identification Process
Sustainability material issues (materiality) were identified in accordance with international guidelines and surveys of social and industry trends. The selected material issues were mapped on two axes: "importance to society (stakeholders)" and "importance to Moriroku's business (earnings growth)." This process resulted in the identification of nine top-priority issues.
1. Competitive research
The demands and expectations of society and our surveyed the status of initiatives in the industry to which it belongs as a whole and at other companies in the same industry.
2. Having an accurate grasp of the situation
To major Moriroku Group conducted a questionnaire survey and individual interviews using a checklist (8 categories, 160 questions) based on international standards such as ISO 26000.
3. Materiality Identification
Prioritize the 21 issues identified based on the information in (1) and (2) on a matrix. The company conducted the following activities. In addition, nine issues of high importance to both Moriroku and society were identified.
4. Debate and approval by management
Sustainability materiality proposals that had been identified and reviewed were ultimately approved by the Board of Directors having first been deliberated by the Sustainability Committee and the Management Meetings.
Materiality identification and review
Materialities are regularly identified and reviewed in line with the Mid-Term Plan (three years). Upon the formulation of the 14th Mid-Term Management Plan, these materialities were reevaluated in light of changes in the social environment, developments in business strategy, and the expectations of stakeholders. As a result, we took the following action concerning issues to be addressed hereunto as follows.

Ongoing: Issues that were considered to remain of high importance were continued after reviewing their content. The way we set out and prioritize issues that have seen changes in demands from society and relation to business was updated.

New: New issues that need to be addressed were added.
