Shikoku Kakoh's Co-extruded Multilayer Film Technology
Co-extruded multilayer films are made by melting resins of different properties and layering them in a mold to form a single film.
By designing the resin type and composition ratio, various functions can be added to a single film, such as heat sealability, flexibility, heat resistance, cold resistance, pinhole resistance, and gas barrier properties, to meet customer performance requirements.
In the case of co-extrusion inflation molding, aseptic and hygienic films can be obtained because the inner surface is not exposed to the outside air.
For this reason, it has gained much support in the medical and food fields.
Multilayer Co-extrusion Method - Shikoku Kako's Technological Strength and Uniqueness
While most of them generally support single, three, or up to five layers, Shikoku Kako's multilayer co-extrusion method is characterized by the ability to simultaneously layer three to seven layers of different resins and to freely design the thickness and materials of each layer.
Difference in Laminate Manufacturing Method
Flexible design allows films to meet a variety of functions

Since laminates are made by laminating films of a fixed thickness, it is difficult to change the ratio of specific layers, but the co-extrusion process allows pinpoint changes in the ratio. Our strength is that we can freely design and realize the functions required in each field, such as "safety" and "gas barrier property" for food packaging, "heat resistance" and "strength" in addition to "safety" for medical packaging, and "antistatic performance" and "cleanliness" for electronic components, which continue to be supported by our customers. This is the strength of our ability to freely design and realize the functions required by each field.
Multilayer Film with Minimal Man-Hours and Environmental Impact

Laminated multilayer films are made by manufacturing a base material (single layer film) from raw materials by extrusion molding and then laminating them together with an adhesive at a laminating plant.Co-extrusion is an environmentally friendly process that does not produce a base material, but instead creates a multilayer film in a single step from raw materials. Also, organic solvents (residual solvents) contained in the adhesive do not remain in the film.
